Be still, and know the ultimate source of peace.
It's when we chase happiness that it eludes us.
If we give up the chase in the external world,
we will realise that it is within us and not without.
It does not depend on ANY external factor ...not even death.
But of course , to get this knowledge you need to be still.
Your monkey like mind needs to be still.
Try !

Here comes the rain !

A peacock is a lovely bird to look at. In  the wind it holds its feathers high and spread out like a fan to catch it's balance. It's a lovely sight.
It is called the peacock dance.
And since the wind is usually present at the time of rains , it is often a saying in folklore that the 'Dance of the Peacock' is the harbinger of rains!

Mountains huddle together

under their snowy cover...
When we see these snow capped mountains of the Andes,
we get the feeling that the mountains are lazing under the white covers,
too lazy to get up and greet the day , as some of us are on sunday mornings!

Bobo's thoughts : Mountains can afford to be lazy, no one's going to try to move them.
 

Beautiful flower

waiting for a shower ?

The flower looks beautiful almost like a butterfly.
The plant is actually dying for need of water.
Imagine how benevolent this plant is , to give
us such a beautiful flower even as it faces the throes of death.

Bobo's thoughts : somebody water the plant, it deserves it.
 

A baby turtle so weak

It's only as old as a week!
Turtle are slow on land but in the sea they are at home.
Turtle swim really fast and I bet this one would too , if it were not a toy.
It inherited its trait from its parent turtles. (Maybe Papa turtle was a real fast guy!)
Our children carry many of our traits.
And in the proper environment they develop these traits quickly.
It's upto us to provide an environment that nurtures the positive traits and to quells the unnecessary ones.


Bobo's thoughts : Evolution is now at a stage where it can modify itself !

All day around we roam

then it's home sweet home !

There's no place like home sweet home.
It protects us from the elements and enemies.
And that is why we should protect it in return.
I'm thinking about planet earth here.
And how we can save this pale blue dot for future generations to come.
I think this to be a crucial factor in whether we survive.

Bobo's thoughts: We may transform other worlds (as in Avtar Movie) but there's no place like home,
as every returning astronaut knows.
 

The moon bright and round.......

The clouds seem to want to cloud the moon,
but can't quite succeed in doing so.
This is the way to live one's life,
no matter what happens or goes wrong,
we can still smile and spread a little comfort around.
I'm reminded here of a story about mother Teresa

One day Mother Teresa went to a  bakery to ask for bread for the starving children in the orphanage. The baker responded by spitting into her outstretched palm.
However Mother Teresa informed him gently that she would keep the spit for herself and begged him to provide something to feed on for the poor and orphaned kids holding out her other palm.The baker shamed by her response, gave her the bread she wanted.

Bobo's thoughts : Behind every dark cloud there is a silver lining. Be that silver lining to someone's dark clouds !
 

I'm all fur ......

and purr !

This cute little cat is a friend's. It has cute eyes.
Well don't be fooled, he is a very wise cat with great spiritual inclination.
He jumps on the bed when we play something spiritual on the computer.

Bobo's thoughts : I'd love to pet it !

They bring joy at first .....

but eventually ..they burst !

 Those are balloons that look good now and we know will eventually burst.
What we don't know is everything in life is a potential balloon.
We are overcome with anguish when our balloons burst one after the other.
The correct attitude would be to enjoy them when they are full, and then
move on, keeping the dictum in mind that nothing in life is permanent.

Bobo's thought: Change is inevitable . Except for God, everything changes.
 

Lily in the wild

you make me smile .....

Nature is really full of beautiful surprises.
The lily I saw in the wild when I turned a corner, actually took my breath away.

In the bible it says ,
Look how the wild flowers grow:
they do not work or make clothes for themselves.
But I tell you that not even Solomon, as rich as he was,
had clothes as beautiful as one of these flowers.
It is God who clothes the wild grass....(Matt 6:27-30)

Bobo's thoughts : Everything is a miracle

Lily in the park

love your spark ...

To be honest I don't know if it is a lily for sure but I like the way it looks like a flame flickering.

Bobo's thought : what's in a name ....

Even when you fall .....

You could outdo them all !

This plane is a small plane used for aerobattics.
It is named "Halcones" after the falcon.
The falcon is the  fastest of all land animals.
Well no it is not the cheetah.
Because a cheetah runs at 70 mph
while a falcon in dive speed reaches  nearly three times as much , an incredible 200 mph !

Bobo's thought : so what if you are falling, you are still doing it in style !

Just Jelly ....

For the fasting belly !
 For muslims there is a month of fasting called Ramadaan.
In the evening they break their fast at sunset or what they call Magrib time.
In persia there is a small selection of foods served first to break the fast.
This is then followed by a proper meal.
The photograph belongs to the breaking fast variety!

Bobo's thought : seems to me like saying go slow belly, tread slowly, you've been resting for long,
so don't do too much at once !

 

Sometimes we receive

more than we ask for !

Yeah sure we ask for rain ,
because agriculture depends on it
 and we depend on agriculture either directly or indirectly.
But quite so much of it results in a deluge.
Which is just like saying too much of anything is bound to be too bad.

Bobo's thoughts : In moderation everything is fine. Take the middle way. Don't go to extremes.

Oh no, you missed the bus !

Just wait for the next one, don't make a fuss !

When we arrive too late for anything, we feel frustrated.
Well as simple as the saying 'don't cry over spilt milk' goes,
don't worry about the missed bus!
Take the sub...or a cab...or walk ...or read a book
until the next one arrives...
Bobo's thoughts : I think a lot of people spend a good part of their time trying to catch missed
buses !

Sit at ease .......

And  enjoy the seabreeze !


when you need a bit of peace and quiet
you can sit alone on a bench like this
and enjoy the view of the sea
and feel the salty sea air on your face.

Bobo's thought : In time you'll take a nap on the bench

If the sun gets too hot....

seek the shade of a friend you've got !

When things don't go well in life,
when you are depressed , or feel down in the dumps,
seek the warmth and friendship of a friend you have.
Talk to him about what ails you,
and you'll be surprised how much a true friend can help you,
just by talking to you.
Bobo's thought : Fear not, you are always in the shade of your creator.

Sail the ocean of life....

Don't drop your anchor in any strife.

When you sail the ocean of life, you'll see plenty. There will be plenty of joyous occasions.
They will seem like islands of paradise itself. Beautiful and enchanting.
Now don't drop your anchor there. For they will soon pass being beautiful.
For example the joy of success cannot last forever. But some people do get drunk on it.
Similarly there are times of sorrow and strife. But don't drop anchor there either.
For as the wise say, that too will pass in time.

Bobo's thoughts : Drop your anchor in the eternal consciousness, the only reliable place you can drop anchor.
 

All I need there....

is a room somewhere .....!

This is really a line from the famous english movie 'my fair lady'.
We all need a room somewhere to keep us safe from the elements.
Many of us also think about a room when we intend to go on a business tour , on vacation ,
would like to know if there is a room there for you.

Bobo's thought : The room that really counts is the one that you have in your heart, and
what sits there.
 

Stand TALL and be you...

Sky's the limit to what you can do !

If you let go off all the inferior thoughts that run in your mind,
If you can let positive thoughts take their place , then honestly,
there is nothing in this world that you cannot do.
Bobo's thought: So stand tall, and be all that you can be.

Crab's Eyeview

Humans are so peculiar , they always walk straight instead of sideways ! !

Well this actually comes from a joke I read somewhere.
There are two female crabs discussing their husbands who have started drinking.
And one female crab says to the other , "He is crossing all limits now, why yesterday
he came home ....walking straight !!"

Bobo's thought : Lol, whoever wrote that joke has a good sense of humor.

But He exists within   you, says the mirror ?!

Most of us are in search of happiness because we have covered our true nature of happiness
with a veil of never-ending thoughts.
If you could stop thinking you would revert back to your original state of bliss.
But then who can stop thinking ? Paradoxical , right ?

Bobo's thought : In a way of looking you (and everything else) are  consciousness.
Or God is within you, as within everything else.
This view makes us automatically feel love and compassion for all beings since they are just an extension of us.
 

To get your 'peace of mind' back.....

Take a walk , in the park !

There's nothing like a walk in the park to put your mind at ease.
Rearrange your thoughts. Enjoy the ambience.
The peaceful surroundings is sure to put you in a calm mood.

Bobo's thought: If this is done on a regular basis , it can be good for mind and body.

To dissipate your gloom ...

Red Roses Bloom !

Well I don't think someone can look at that bunch of roses and not feel happy!
I can almost smell them in this picture.
No wonder the red rose is the flower of choice between lovers.
Pink roses depict admiration,
white rose stands for rememberance or 'i'm thinking of you
and yellow rose stands for friendship etc.

Bobo's thought :  When you feel gloomy , look at a bunch of roses, smell them. You'll feel your gloom lift.

 

Pooch(a) !

Little Boy, You bring me great Joy  !

He's a cute little pooch.
From what I've heard about him he can get ferocious and ...
fight your cellphone.
Bobo's thought : A dog is a man's best friend.

Blue sky , Blue Lagoon

True blues.....baby ....I love you !

True blues is a song by madonna.
The picture however has little to do with this song and more to do with another madonna song - La isla bonita (the beautiful island).
However you'll be amazed by the different blue you get in coral reef bound lagoons...it's different
from the blues you find elsewhere.
The picture shows both the sky and the lagoon and the contrasting blues.

Bobo's thought : Each hue is beautiful in its own right. Beauty as Plato  said lies in the eyes of the beholder !

 

Be like the Sun

Show your love alike to the useful river and the useless brambles!

God makes his sun shine alike on the useful and the useless
on the good and the bad
on the king and the pauper
on the intellectual and the country bumpkin
There is no difference for him
Bobo's thoughts : you should be likewise. Do NOT be a snob.

Child's Hieroglyphs

 

Deciphered : Enjoy Life's Gifts , Good AND Bad !

The ice cream and sweets symbolizes the good and the enjoyable.
Similarly some of these pictographs may symbolize the bad and ugly.
The good the bad and the ugly all form a  part of life whether you like it or not.
All of these have to be countenanced in everyone's life.
No one's life is just good from start to end. Infact it is the bad that we face alont the way
that makes us a stronger person.
Bobo thinks : In that sense be happy when you are going through
a bad patch. It is making you stronger.

 

Do flowers tell us something ?

 

 

Fill the world with as much beauty and fragrance as you can , before you wilt....?

The earth laughs in flowers said Ralph w Emerson. How true. You can't help but smile when you look at one. How happy they make us. And how scented they are. Truly they live their lives with one
intention " we need to give as much as possible to the world before we die".
And the bees flock to them.

Bobo's thought: Bobo thinks we should live our lives similarly, exuding warmth and friendship.
And when we do , we need do nothing else. People will flock to us.

We ain't rich , but we've got LOVE !


Bobo's thoughts :
These are our cats and  they spend a lot of time in our backyard.
I see them frolicking in the sand and in the garden and everywhere.
They look like they are made just for each other.
They catch little mice and snakes (yuk) together.
And they always sleep together.
One day I was surprised when I saw just one of them asleep 'alone' on a mat, without the other.
But then the mat started to move and the other one emerged from underneath it!
Bobo's thought : We don't really need to be rich to be loving. We maybe eeking out a living but love has little to do with it. So instead of waiting for that posh house or car, start loving NOW.

Friends

Sometimes....It's when  friends leave us , that we think of  them the most !

After a glorious sunset , bobo had these thoughts -
When the sun, the giver of life on earth,rises in the morning we are on our way to greet a new day.
At noon when his heat scorches us, we'll be eating our midday meal, in the cool shade .
And yet at dusk after a dazzling display when he recedes beyond the horizon,
we get thinking what a nice friend he had been.
It is similar with friends and relattives when they are with us helping us, guiding us, even admonishing us, we scarce think of them. We even pick up fights with them, to stay in what we
think are cooler places.
But the moment they go from our life, we miss them.  It's amazing how little we thought of them
when they were around. And still more amazing when we start to think how much they were there for us.
Bobo's final thought on this : If  someone loves you reciprocate in kind, or it might be too late when he or she leaves you.
